abstract The process for recovering lithium ions comprises: providing a composition having lithium ions to be extracted; Removing materials from the lithium ion; Introducing at least one siloxane into the lithium ion to form at least one cyclic siloxane-lithium ion complex; Extracting said at least one cyclic siloxane-lithium ion complex by at least one liquid-liquid extraction step; Separating the organic phase having the cyclic siloxane-lithium ion complex from the aqueous phase; Removing water from the organic phase; Filtering the organic phase to obtain a filtered liquid; And obtaining at least one lithium ion (e.g., a lithium salt) from the filtered liquid.
