abstract | The present invention relates to a process for the epoxidation of olefins using an epoxidation catalyst, wherein the concentration of olefin oxide in the outlet is greater than about 2.2% by volume. The catalyst having improved selectivity in the epoxidation process and having a pore size of from about 0.01 to about 5 microns in diameter and a micropore volume volume peak of from about 0.01 to about 5 microns, A bimodal support having a pore size of about 1 to about 20 microns in diameter and a porosity of the second mode in which the micropore volume volume peak is about 1 to 20 microns. On the surface, there is an effective catalytic amount of silver, a co-catalytic amount of rhenium and a co-catalytic amount of at least one alkali metal. |
