titleOfInvention | Improved preparation of molecular imprinted polymers |
abstract | One aspect relates to a method for improved preparation of molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP) particles, wherein the initial compositions comprising insoluble MIP particles are concentrated with such MIP particles that bind to a particular target molecule, The molecules are discharged from the final composition. Concentration is usually carried out either by use of chromatographic methods capable of separating the particulate material or by means of an agglomeration reaction. Another aspect is the production of improved insoluble MIPs by the use of extended micronization of the unpurified MIP particles to expose numerous binding sites per mass unit of MIP particles. In preferred embodiments, the two aspects are combined. The resulting improved MIPs can be used for diagnostic, analytical, and therapeutic purposes, among them as oral medications that can bind to substances such as cholesterol, bile acids and bile salts in the gastrointestinal tract.n n n n Molecular imprinting polymer (MIP), polymerization reaction, template molecule, target molecule, micronization |
