A coextrusion method of coextruding a thermoplastic elastomer with two outer layers of an adhesive to form a film, and a laminate comprising a plurality of layers including an adhesive layer, a sublayer and a barrier layer. The barrier layer comprises a dynamically vulcanized thermoplastic elastomer composition present in one or more plies of the barrier layer. The sublayer comprises a first layer of a first adhesive composition that couples to the barrier layer and a second layer, wherein the adhesive layer comprises the second layer and is vulcanizable with a diene rubber. The sublayer of adhesive may be placed in contact with a relatively hot thermoplastic elastomer to relax the temperature of the outer layer of adhesive so that at least the outer layer of adhesive is protected from scorching and may be co-vulcanized with the rubber in the tire making process. |
