abstract The concatenated BCA encoding circuit includes a row encoder, a column encoder, and a parity first-in-first-out buffer. The row encoder performs first encoding in a row direction on a plurality of data blocks constituting one page to generate first parities in parallel. The column encoder performs a second encoding on each of the data blocks while the first encoding for the data blocks is performed to generate partial parities in the column direction. The parity first-in-first-out buffer stores the partial parities. Wherein the column encoder performs the second encoding in a column direction on the plurality of data blocks with a single read operation on the plurality of data blocks using partial parities stored in the parity first-in-first-out buffer, .
