abstract | The present invention relates to a method for producing a hydrophilic polyurethane foam structure containing a silver salt selected from the group of sulfuric acid, citric acid, silver acetate, silver carbonate, silver lactate and silver phosphate, or a mixture of these salts. The method comprises the steps of: (a) providing an aqueous phase containing a surfactant and at least one silver salt, wherein at least one silver salt is dispersed in the aqueous phase; (b) providing an isocyanate-terminated polyether having two or more functionalities; (c) mixing the aqueous phase with the isocyanate-terminated polyether and transferring the resulting mixture directly to a mold, thereby obtaining a foam structure; And (d) drying the foam structure to a moisture content of at most 10% (wt).
