titleOfInvention | Pharmaceutical compositions for prevention or treatment of liver cancer comprising neferine |
abstract | The present invention relates to a novel use of nephrine for the treatment of liver cancer. More particularly, the present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating liver cancer, which comprises nephelin as an active ingredient, and a health functional food. The neferine of the present invention can have an anticancer effect through cell cycle arrest, apoptosis induction, autophagy induction, neovascularization inhibition and cell migration inhibitory activity of liver cancer cells. In particular, nephelin has a cytotoxic effect on hepatocellular carcinoma cells induced by viral infection among hepatocarcinoma cells, and therefore has an optimal therapeutic effect on hepatocellular carcinoma cells induced by viral infection. Accordingly, the nephelin of the present invention can be used as a health functional food as well as a medicine such as a pharmacological composition as a substance capable of preventing or treating liver cancer, and thus it is expected to be highly valuable when applied to the food industry and the pharmaceutical industry do. In addition, since Nepherine of the present invention does not show cytotoxicity other than specific liver cancer cells, the composition of the present invention containing it as an effective ingredient has safety advantages even in long-term use. |
