| abstract | CLAIMS What is claimed is: 1. A method for disinfecting or sterilizing an article or part of an article, comprising: enclosing the article or article part in a container having a wall which is at least partly a semi-permeable fabric or membrane; And introducing a vaporizable amount of biocide, preferably aqueous hydrogen peroxide, into the interior of the vessel in the form of a solution, vapor, liquid or preferably inhalant. The semipermeable fabric or membrane is selected to provide a barrier to entry of microorganisms while allowing steam to pass from the inside of the container to the outside. The biocide is allowed to escape through the membrane at above the atmospheric pressure, and the fluid, e.g., air, flows adjacent the exterior of the membrane to facilitate removal of the vapor from the interior side. The article is exposed for a sufficient time to disinfect or sterilize the article. |
