titleOfInvention Oxycarbonitride phosphors and light emitting devices using the same
abstract A novel family of oxycarbonitride phosphor compositions and light emitting devices comprising the same are disclosed herein. Within the sextant system of M-Al-Si-ONC-Ln and the quintuplet system of M-Si-ONC-Ln (M = alkaline earth element, Ln = rare earth element) Are made of either a single crystalline phase or two crystalline phases with high chemical and thermal stability. In certain embodiments, the disclosed phosphor of silicon oxycarbonitride emits green light at a wavelength between 530 nm and 550 nm. In further embodiments, the disclosed phosphor compositions emit blue-green light into yellow light in the wavelength range of 450 nm to 650 nm under near-UV and blue light excitation.
