Photovoltaic electroless plating |
abstract |
Methods and compositions for plating photovoltaic solar cells are disclosed. The cell is immersed in an aqueous bath containing platable metal ions and a chemical reducing agent. Thereafter, the battery is exposed to light so that the two sides of the battery are charged in the opposite direction. Metal ions do not require external electrical contacts, are plated without backside oxidative corrosion, and require no backside sacrificial material. |
