titleOfInvention Method of Making Para-Aramid Fibers
abstract According to the present invention, a polymer solution in which an aramid polymer is dissolved in an organic solvent is spun into an inert gas through a spinneret to remove a part of the organic solvent in the spun fiber, and then the conditioning solution is brought into contact with the spun fiber to maintain the remaining water content in the fiber. The para-aramid fiber is prepared by a dry spinning method of stretching, washing with water and heat-treating after maintaining 10 to 15%. The present invention can significantly reduce energy consumption and cost for solvent recovery as compared to the case of preparing para-aramid fibers by the conventional wet spinning method. In addition, since the present invention does not need to use a concentrated sulfuric acid solvent during the spinning process, conventional problems such as device corrosion and deterioration of working environment can be solved. In addition, the present invention can significantly improve the strength and elastic modulus of the fiber because the remaining moisture content in the fiber before stretching is maintained at 10 to 15% and then stretched and heat treated.
