Disclosed are compositions useful in a wide variety of applications, including heat transfer fluids that possess highly desirable and unexpectedly excellent combinations of properties, and heat transfer systems and methods based on these fluids. Preferred heat transfer fluids are compounds having from about 1 to about 40 percent carbon dioxide (CO 2 ) by weight and from about 99 to about 60 percent by weight of formula I XCFzR 3 -z , wherein X is an unsaturated, substituted C2 or C3 Alkyl radicals, unsubstituted or substituted, each R is independently Cl, F, Br, I or H, and z is 1-3. Preferred Formula I compounds are tetrafluoropropenes, in particular 1,1,1,3-tetrafluoropropene and / or 1,1,1,3-tetrafluoropropene.n n n n Refrigerant, tetrafluoropropene, 1,1,1,3-tetrafluoropropene, carbon dioxide, global warming index |
