titleOfInvention | Inflator for Air Bag |
abstract | An inflator for an air bag contains a chemical component such as an ignition device, a booster and a gas generator in a metal housing. In a car accident, when the collision sensor transmits an electrical signal to the ignition device through the control unit, combustion proceeds in the order of the ignition device, the booster, and the gas generating agent to generate hot gas and combustion byproducts. This gas and byproduct combustion particles are cooled through a filter and filtered to inflate the airbag. Failure to effectively remove combustion by-products such as ash, slag and mist through the coolant / filter will damage the airbags and will not protect the driver and passengers in a car accident. The present invention adjusts the pressure in the combustion chamber by limiting the coolant / filter density of the inflator for airbags and the theoretical slag amount generated during combustion of the filter's air gap to the gas generator, and adjusts the amount of slag exiting through the gas outlet. By being within 24 criteria, the driver and passengers can be effectively protected in the event of a vehicle accident. |
