The polyols stabilize the polymorphic forms of rifaximin, especially the ß form. When a polyol having two or more hydroxy groups is added to the rifaximin powder, the 棺 -form polymorph is stable and remains stable over time regardless of the humidity of the surroundings. In the present invention, a method for producing a preparation made up of a pure and stable polymorphic form capable of providing a pharmaceutical product is disclosed. |
