abstract The present invention relates to an Arabidopsis apoptosis inhibitor-like protein (AtILP) isolated from Arabidopsis thaliana having the amino acid sequence represented by SEQ ID NO: 1, wherein the protein comprises a RING finger domain at the C-terminus and baculovirus IAP repeat ( BIR) domain is to provide a transgenic plant having an apoptosis inhibitor-like protein that mitigates cell death characterized by deficiency and an anti-apoptotic activity that overexpresses the Arabidopsis apoptosis inhibitor-like protein (AtILP).
