abstract | Methods of forming tellurium alkoxides include providing tellurium halides and non-tellurium alkoxides in a liquid organic solvent. The liquid organic solvent has less molar alcohol (if present) than the mole of tellurium halide in the liquid organic solvent. Tellurium halides and non-tellurium alkoxides in the liquid organic solvent react to form the reaction product halides and tellurium alkoxides. The liquid organic solvent is removed from the reaction product halide and tellurium alkoxide to leave a liquid and / or solid mixture comprising the reaction product halide and tellurium alkoxide. This mixture is heated to effectively vaporize tellurium alkoxide from reaction product halides. Other embodiments are disclosed that include methods of forming halide-alkoxides of mixed tellurium. |
