titleOfInvention Overflow Control Techniques for Image Signal Processing
abstract Overflow control logic 84 that detects an overflow condition when destination unit, sensor input queues 400, 402 and / or front-end processing unit 80 receive a back pressure from a downstream destination unit. Specific embodiments of the image signal processing system 32 are disclosed. In one embodiment, pixels of the current frame are dropped when an overflow condition occurs. The number of dropped pixels can be tracked using the counter 406. Upon recovery of the overflow condition, the remaining pixels of the frame are received and each dropped pixel can be replaced using the replacement pixel value.
