Catalyst compositions comprising metal phosphate binders and zeolites can be used to improve olefin yields during hydrocarbon cracking processes. This composition typically further comprises aluminum phosphate and the metal of the metal phosphate is a metal other than aluminum. Depending on the metal selected, it is possible to obtain propylene and isobutylene yields in an improved fluid catalytic cracking process compared to catalysts that do not contain such metal phosphate binders. The catalyst may also include non-zeolitic molecular sieves, thus making the composition suitable for use in applications other than catalytic cracking, such as tablet and adsorbent applications. |
