The present invention relates to a cathode active material including a metal coating layer on an active material particle surface, a cathode including the same, and a lithium secondary battery using the same. According to the present invention, by including the metal coating layer on the surface of the active material particles constituting the positive electrode active material, the electrical conductivity is improved, it is possible to increase the output and energy density.
