Systems and Methods for Bacterial Sterilization of Fluids Using a Point Radiation Source |
abstract |
The present invention includes a flow cell comprising one or more inlet ports and one or more outlet ports, through which fluid flows fluid containing biological contaminants from one or more inlet ports to one or more outlet port portions; And at least one point radiation source disposed in said flow cell and operative to transfer radiation to said biological contaminants; An inner surface of the flow cell is adapted to reflect radiation transmitted to the fluid by the one or more point radiation sources; The inner surface of the flow cell is a fluid sterilization system, characterized in that it acts to reflect radiation delivered to biological contaminants by one or more point radiation sources such that the radiation intensity is uniform throughout the interior of the flow cell. The flow cell is an integrating sphere. Optionally, a photocatalytic material is disposed on at least a portion of the inner surface of the flow cell. |
