abstract The present invention relates to a novel Salmonella enteritidis strain and a vaccine composition comprising the same, and more particularly, a novel Salmonella enteritidis strain isolated from domestic poultry farms, a vaccine composition comprising the strain, and a method for preparing the vaccine composition. The present invention relates to a method for preventing infection of Salmonella enteritidis by administering the vaccine composition to poultry. The vaccine of the present invention can exert an excellent immunity for a long time even when inoculated at a lower concentration (effective bacterial count) than the conventional vaccine.
