Cold Gas Spray Method |
abstract |
The present invention relates to a method of coating a workpiece (13) by cold gas spraying. The method is accomplished using a cold gas spray nozzle 12 which produces a particle jet 15 facing the surface 16. Additional energy enters layer 20 while energy is introduced into particles 19 by cold gas spray nozzle 12, which is formed by an electromagnetic energy source such as, for example, laser 24. Cold spray treatment can be used flexibly as a result of the additional action by electromagnetic radiation 25. Layers with complex structures such as strip conductors can be made by laser 24 without further processing. The invention also relates to a coating unit comprising a generator 24 for electromagnetic radiation in addition to a cold gas spray nozzle 12 and is therefore suitable for carrying out the disclosed method. |
