abstract This grain-oriented electromagnetic steel sheet has a tension coating which does not contain chromium. In this invention, a manganese compound and a potassium compound are included in the tension film which consists of a phosphate and a silica. The molar ratio (K / Mn) of potassium and manganese in the film is in a certain range. However, manganese referred to here excludes manganese derived from manganese phosphate which may be included in the coating material. This is obtained by adding a compound containing phosphate and silica, and further adding potassium and manganese to prepare a coating liquid, and applying this to the finish-annealed grain-oriented electromagnetic steel sheet by applying dry baking.
