A test apparatus is provided that includes a base layer having a first electrode thereon and an upper layer having a second electrode thereon. The two electrodes are separated by a spacer layer including an opening therein, so that the sample-receiving space is defined by one electrode on the upper surface, another electrode on the lower surface and sidewalls formed from the edge of the opening in the spacer. Reagents for carrying out the electrochemical reaction are deposited on one electrode and on the side walls of the sample-receiving space. |
