abstract | The present invention provides a selective A 3 adenosine receptor agonist, 2-chloro-N 6- (3-iodobenzyl) -4′-thioadenosine-5′-N-methyluronamamide (thio-Cl- IB-MECA) or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, the present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating colorectal cancer. The A 3 adenosine receptor agonist, thio-Cl-IB-MECA, according to the present invention is low in toxicity and selectively inhibits the growth of colorectal cancer cells as compared to other A 3 adenosine receptor agonists, and thus is useful for the prevention or treatment of colorectal cancer.
