titleOfInvention | A composition for protecting cells or tissues from radiation comprising an extract of chile noir as an active ingredient |
abstract | The present invention relates to a novel use of Polyopes lancifolia (Harvey) kawaguchi et wang to protect cells or tissues from radiation. Specifically, the present invention relates to a composition for protecting cells or tissues from radiation comprising the extract of hair chinoir as an active ingredient. The radiation includes gamma-irradiation. Hair chinoir extract according to the present invention inhibits the production of reactive oxygen species (ROS) induced by irradiation, and preserves the activity of antioxidant enzymes. In addition, it is possible to effectively suppress apoptosis due to irradiation. Therefore, it can be usefully used to protect organisms from radiation. |
