Even when the dielectric layer is further thinned or multilayered, a dielectric ceramic having a good thermal shock resistance and a multilayer ceramic capacitor using the same are realized without compromising characteristics such as dielectric characteristics, insulation, temperature characteristics, and high temperature load characteristics. The dielectric ceramic has a barium titanate-based compound represented by the general formula ABO 3 as a main component, and a crystalline oxide containing Al, Mg, and Si exists as secondary particles. The dielectric layers 6a to 6g are formed of the dielectric ceramic. |
