abstract | Blends of siloxane copolymers, in particular polyaryl ester or polyaryl ester carbonate-containing bonds derived from siloxane polyimide and resorcinol, are improved over conventional polycarbonates when measured by two-minute heat release and maximum heat release. Flame retardance. In some cases transparent flame retardant blends may also be prepared. The compositions exhibit good melt processability, high impact strength and high elongation and can be used to make a variety of flame retardant articles, including sheets and films. |
