abstract In the present invention, the laurel alcohol extract and the nucleic acid fraction have a protective effect against cell death in an artificial cerebral ischemia model in which OGD treatment of human neuroblastoma SH-SY5Y cells is performed. The laurel chloroform fraction is cerebral ischemia of human neuroblastoma SH-SY5Y cells. In the model, the cells were protected from apoptosis by inhibiting the dephosphorylation process that activates DAPK. In the cerebral cortex of tissue culture, OGD-induced hippocampus cell death was suppressed in a dose-dependent manner. It relates to a composition for the prevention and treatment of ischemic neurological brain diseases, including alcohol extract and chloroform fraction of laurel leaves, which can confirm the reduction of the infarction range.
