abstract The present invention provides a fuel cell system capable of appropriately controlling the moisture content of a fuel cell. An impedance reference value is stored in the memory 151 of the impedance comparing unit 150. The impedance reference value is a reference value provided so that the moisture content of the fuel cell 40 is not reduced too much. The impedance comparing unit 150 compares the measured impedance supplied from the impedance calculating unit 140 with the impedance reference value and performs scavenging control based on the comparison result.
