The present invention relates to a tissue dressing assembly formed from a hydrophilic polymer sponge structure. The tissue dressing assembly may comprise, for example, (i) hemostasis, sealing or stabilization of tissue trauma or tissue access site, or (ii) the formation of an antimicrobial barrier, or (iii) the formation of an antiviral patch, or (iv) Intervene of bleeding disorders, or (v) release of therapeutic agents, or (vi) treatment of mucosal surfaces, or (vii) combinations of (i) to (vi) above. The tissue dressing structure may comprise, for example, (i) microcracks in a significant portion of the structure by mechanical manipulation before use, or (ii) a surface relief pattern formed in a substantial portion of the structure prior to use, or (iii) a substantial amount of the structure before use. The pattern of fluid inlet channels formed in the portion, or (iv) the impregnation of the sheet material into the sponge structure.n n n Tissue dressing pad assembly, hydrophilic polymer sponge structure, tissue dressing sheet assembly, composite dressing assembly, chitosan matrix |
