The present invention relates to blends of fibers for use in protective clothing, lightweight fabrics made from such blends, protective articles made from such blends or fabrics, and methods of making such fabrics. The protective fabrics and articles of the present invention have a unique combination that is comfortable, very effective against electrical arcs and sudden fire hazards, and with a satisfactory appearance.
