titleOfInvention | Rheology-Modified Thermoplastic Elastomer Compositions for Extruded Profiles |
abstract | The present invention relates to ethylene / a-olefin polymers and polypropylene or propylene, in which the rheology modification is induced by a combination of peroxide and free radical aids with a peroxide: coagent ratio of from 1: 4 to 1:20 up to 0.075% by weight. A rheology-modified, gel-free thermoplastic elastomer composition comprising a melt blend of high melting point polymers, such as / α-olefin copolymers. The resulting composition has certain physical properties that are better than those of rheology-modified compositions with peroxides and preparations or peroxides alone in an elastomeric phase, non-elastomer phase, and in a 1: 2 to 2: 1 ratio. The compositions are used to make various articles of manufacture, such as tubing and waterproof tapes, through molding techniques such as calendering, extrusion, and blow molding.n n n Rheological Modification, Peroxides, Formulations, Ethylene / α-olefin Polymers, High Melting Point Polymers, Thermoplastic Elastomer Compositions |
