abstract | The present invention relates to adipocytes for gene therapy in primary culture that stably maintains foreign genes encoding proteins secreted out of cells. The present invention provides cells suitable for gene therapy, in place of bone marrow cells and hepatocytes that have been conventionally used for ex vivo gene therapy. According to the present invention, a method for introducing a foreign gene into primary cultured adipocytes suitable for gene therapy in vitro, which is easy to collect and transplant and can be removed after transplantation, in particular, a method using a retroviral vector, has been established and codes for proteins secreted out of the cell.
