titleOfInvention High Performance Wireless Receiver with Cluster Multipath Interference Suppression Circuit
abstract A receiver for suppressing inter-cluster multipath interference by processing an impulse channel response consisting of two multipath clusters, each cluster having a signal group with a plurality of delays. In one embodiment, the receiver includes a single antenna and a parallel connected delay unit used to align groups of signals before input to each sliding window equalizer. The outputs of the equalizers are combined at the chip level through a combiner that provides a single output. In another embodiment, the receiver includes a cluster multipath interference suppression (CMIS) circuit. The CMIS circuit includes a hard decision unit and a plurality of signal reproduction units for generating replicas of the multipath cluster. The replica is subtracted from the output of each delay unit and input to each sliding window equalizer. In another embodiment, a plurality of antennas is used for the reception and processing of the cluster.
