titleOfInvention Method for preparing cationic surfactant
abstract The present invention relates to a method for preparing a surfactant comprising a compound of formula 1 prepared by esterifying a monomeric acid and triethanolamine or methyldiethylamine and quaternizing with dimethyl sulfate or methyl chloride. The cationic surfactants prepared according to the present invention are economical because they can be recycled by using reaction by-products, and can be useful as cationic surfactants due to their excellent low temperature stability and discoloration stability: [Formula 1] Where R 1 , R 2 , and R 3 are independently of each other CH 3 , —CH 2 CH 2 OH or —CH 2 CH 2 OCOR 4, wherein R 4 is omega-6 (ω-6) to omega-12 ( a C 12-22 fatty acid group derived from a monomeric acid containing isostearic acid and isooleic acid having a methyl group branched at a carbon position of ω-12); X is halogen, CH 3 SO 4 or C 2 H 6 SO 4 .
