abstract The present invention relates to the discovery that collagenase injections are effective in breaking down collagen adhesion in the shoulder and treating adhesion arthritis disease. As such, the present invention relates to a method for treating or preventing adhesion arthritis, or stiff shoulder, including the injection or otherwise delivery of an effective amount of collagenase to a collagen adhesion site on the shoulder in a patient in need thereof. The invention also relates to the use of collagenase in the manufacture of a medicament for the treatment of adhesion arthritis.
