abstract | The present invention provides an antifouling coating composition containing (A) a hydrolyzable copolymer and (B) an antifouling agent, wherein (A) is an (a1) acrylic polymer or a polyester resin, whereinn n n [Formula I]n n n n n n n n A metal salt bond-containing copolymer having a side chain end group represented by [M is Zn 2 , Cu, R 1 is an organic group.], (A2) Formula II:n n n [Formula II]n n n n n n n n A metal salt bond-containing copolymer formed of a monomer component unit (a21) represented by [M is the same as above and R 2 is H or CH 3 ] and another unsaturated monomer component unit (a22) copolymerizable with this monomer, And (a3) Formula III:n n n [Formula III]n n n n n n n n [R 3 is the same as R 2 , R 4 to R 6 are hydrocarbon groups, R 7 is H, R 8 -O-CO- (where R 8 is an organic group or -SiR 9 R 10 R 11 (R 9 to R 11 represents a hydrocarbon group.) A group consisting of a monomer component unit (a31) represented by a) and a silyl ester copolymer formed from another unsaturated monomer component unit (a32) copolymerizable with this monomer (III). At least one hydrolyzable copolymer selected from the present invention provides an antifouling coating composition comprising zinc sulfide as the antifouling agent (B) in an amount of 10 to 500 parts by weight based on 100 parts by weight of (A). Such an antifouling coating composition has a low environmental load and a good antifouling property against algae. |
