abstract | The present invention includes antibodies that provide excellent anticoagulant activity by binding to native human TF with high affinity and specificity. The antibodies of the present invention can effectively inhibit in vivo blood clotting. Antibodies of the invention may bind to native human TF, either alone or present in the TF: FVIIa complex, effectively preventing factor X or FIX binding to the TF or complex thereof, thereby reducing blood coagulation. Preferred antibodies of the invention specifically bind excellent conformational epitopes to native human TF, which epitopes provide unexpectedly strong antibody binding sites. Also provided are humanized antibodies and fragments thereof that bind TF. |
