titleOfInvention Intraocular lens system
abstract Two or three component lens system. The first component 12 is a pseudo-ring supported component that is implanted into the capsular bag after cataract surgery. The first component 12 is a non-optical component and does not correct any refractive anomalies. The first component may include features to help reduce or eliminate posterior capsular clouding (PCO). The second component 14 is an optical component capable of retaining all corrective optics of the lens system. The second component has a pair of supports 24 for securing the second component 14 in the first component 12. The third component 16 can be used to correct any residual refractive error that is similar to the second component 14 and that is not corrected by the second component 14. Also, the second and third components can be implanted to move relative to each other, providing some control.
