FIELD OF THE INVENTION The present invention relates to the field of processing of metal surfaces, and more particularly to compositions and methods for anodizing magnesium and magnesium alloys and producing conductive layers on anodized surfaces. This composition is a basic aqueous solution comprising hydroxylamine, phosphate anion, and nonionic surfactant. The invention also relates to a process for preparing a composition for providing conductivity to anodized metal surfaces, in particular magnesium surfaces, and to compositions thereof. The composition is a basic aqueous solution comprising divalent nickel, pyrophosphate anion, sodium hypophosphite and ammonium thiocyanate or lead nitride. |
