abstract The medical retrieval device includes an extended cylinder member having a passage extending therein and has a metallic proximal and distal portions. This proximal and distal portions are formed of separate fragments and are connected at the junction. The elongated cylinder member has a substantially constant inner and outer diameter at a portion of the proximal portion very close to the junction and through this junction to a portion of the distal portion very close to the junction.
