titleOfInvention High Throughput Continuous Flow Ultrasonic Reactor
abstract According to the present invention, the liquid is processed by ultrasonic waves in a flow-through reaction vessel, and the reaction vessel is equipped with ultrasonic horns with one end thereof extending into the reaction vessel. The flow path of the liquid in the reaction vessel exits the reaction vessel after the incoming liquid impinges on its end in a direction substantially perpendicular to the end of the horn and flows over the surface of that end. The end of the horn is disposed proximate to the inlet port, resulting in a relatively high surface area to volume ratio near the end of the horn. In another refinement, the horn is coupled to the ultrasonic transducer via a booster block that provides acoustic gain for ultrasonic vibrations, which is covered with a reflective metal to reduce the loss of ultrasonic energy delivered to the horn.n n n n Ultrasonic Horns, Fossil Fuels, Ultrasonic Transducers
