abstract | The hydrocarbon wax product is purified from the HCS slurry comprising the liquid synthesis product and the catalyst particles by circulating the slurry from the synthesis zone having the first temperature through the treatment zone having the second temperature at which the hydrogen containing process gas is in contact with the slurry. . The gas treatment removes impurities from hydrocarbon wax products and also removes catalytic deactivation species that may be present in the slurry. The purified wax product is separated and removed from the treated slurry via wax recovery means. This obviates or minimizes the need for further processing of the wax product. The remaining treated slurry may be returned to the synthesis zone. |
