abstract | A first substrate, a second substrate opposed to the first substrate at a predetermined interval, and an inner space formed at an edge between the first and second substrates to seal an internal space formed by the first and second substrates. An ultra-thin surface light source device including a sealing member and a first and second surface electrode portions respectively formed on the entire surface of the first substrate and the second substrate. An intermediate layer may be further included in at least one of the space between the first substrate and the first surface electrode portion and the space between the second substrate and the second surface electrode portion. At least one of the first and second surface electrode parts may include a base layer, an electrode pattern formed on an upper surface of the base layer, and a protective layer formed on the electrode pattern. In the surface light source device of the present invention, the bonding between the external electrode portions on both sides and the substrate is firm, and the distance between the first surface electrode portion and the second surface electrode portion can be controlled according to the thickness of the intermediate layer. Discharge characteristics and thermal characteristics can be adjusted.
