titleOfInvention | Column for isotope exchange between liquid and gaseous substances |
abstract | The column of the present invention is provided for the isotope exchange (EM) between liquid phase (L) and gas phase (G) using catalysis (EK). In this reaction, isotope exchange between the molecules of vaporized liquid substance (V) and gaseous substance (G) takes place through heterogeneous catalysis. The column comprises a plurality of modules M, which are arranged stacked in a vertical direction and in each case are subdivided into two regions K, A which are connected in series by a connection region C. Catalysis may be carried out in the region K on the first packing 2. Material exchange E1, E2 between the gaseous phase containing the liquid phase and vapor in the region A can be carried out using a second packing 3 for compensating for the material concentration. During the operation of the column, movement of vapor-containing gaseous substances (G, V) takes place through the module as a result of the pressure gradient. Here, the direction of mass movement is changed at least once in the connection area from the downward direction to the upward direction, and the liquid material L proceeds downward through the module only by gravity action.n n n n Isotopes, Mass Exchanges, Deuterium, Deuterium, Tritium, Columns, Packings, Catalysts |
