A composition for the treatment of hemorrhoids comprising an ointment mixture of a disinfectant and a disinfectant gentian violet (methyllosaniline) and a lubricant such as petrolatum, also known as petrolatum or inorganic jelly. In another embodiment, the composition is prepared as a suppository using a suitable suppository base.
