The present invention provides a nonaqueous electrolyte battery and lead wire which are surface-treated with chromium-free and excellent in hydrofluoric acid resistance. The lead wire is (1) a lead wire metal made of nickel, nickel-plated copper or copper, (2) a resin component containing polyacrylic acid, a zirconium salt, a titanium salt, or a portion which is sealingly bonded to the encapsulation body on the lead wire metal surface; (3) A composite coating layer formed by applying a treatment liquid containing molybdenum salt, and (3) an insulator outside the composite coating layer and sealingly bonded to the enclosure. The nonaqueous electrolyte battery includes an encapsulated body made of a laminated film containing a metal foil, a positive electrode, a negative electrode and an electrolyte solution contained in the laminated film, and a lead wire of the present invention connected to each of the positive electrode and the negative electrode and drawn out of the encapsulated body.
