Use of starch compositions comprising selected cationic starch materials in paper or non-paper production |
abstract |
The present invention relates to the use of a starch composition comprising at least one cationic starch material as a paper making additive or water treatment additive other than a standard mass additive. The fixed nitrogen ratio of the composition in the present invention is at least 2%, preferably 0.1 to 1.9% (where% is expressed as dry weight relative to the dry weight of the composition) and the viscosity determined according to test A is 1600 mPa. s or more, preferably 5 to 1500 mPa.s. Starch compositions selected based on fixed nitrogen emptying and viscosity are also useful as mass additives in a number of other applications, specifically paper making.n n n Fixed Nitrogen, Cationic Starch Materials, Starch Compositions, Paper Making Additives, Industrial Water Treatment Additives |
