abstract The present invention relates to Lactobacillus exidophilus PM1 (KCCM 10765P), which removes heavy metals, and has a broader metal removal ability than conventional Lactobacillus strains. The present invention also provides a food composition comprising Lactobacillus exidophilus PM1 having the heavy metal removal ability. The food composition is supplied to the Lactobacillus exidophilus bacteria in the intestine to adsorb the heavy metal that can be absorbed by the human body to be discharged.
